Chun-Li: Look and Review

Hi Dolls and Dames! I am here for it!!! A review of Nicki Minaj's new single 'Chun Li'. Let me be honest, Nicki has always had a place in my heart and on my playlist. I love her music and I expect to hear more from her in the very near future and for some time to come. That being said...honesty is the best policy, right?

I am going to square Nicki up to no one else but Nicki. It is not fair to continuously make a comparison of her to ANY OTHER female rapper. This is not a shoebox, its a world we can all thrive in and we DESERVE to have multiple female rappers on the charts. It's only a fair representation.

For this track, it is super catchy, definitely a song you can put on loop or ride with. The beat is nice and on trend and Nicki's flow is love;y. I really love that she went for a throwback, nostalgic vibe with the title (what you know about that helicopter kick Nicki? 😏)

However, the song very much feels like Stupid H*e. I feel like this is the zone Nicki goes to when she is on defense switching it up to the offense. We have been here before and I don't feel like Chun Li is a new move for Nicki. However, tried and true, she has given us a 'get ready for the summer' jam and Nicki usually follows up with a hit filled comeback. There is no reason or indication that this time will be any different. Hopefully, with the new music we will see some artistic growth from The Barb. But either way, I will probably have it on HEAVY ROTATION.

Nicki will always deliver a banger for you, growth or not, and let's face it...she just can't do any wrong in my eyes musically.

Vegan Meal Prep

Hello Dames and Dolls! I finally caved! This week I meal prepped. I always see cute pics and used to see coworkers who meticulously portioned colorful, fragrant foods into little plastic and glass containers. I also thought each time "Who has the time?" Well, since Corona, I now do. And I did just that. First, came grocery shopping, then as life goes I had to delay prepping by one day. But finally, I gloriously prepped. Keeping everything somewhat simple and using  containers from Amazon , I prepped: Hummus and Veggies Potato and Kale bowls Chili with tortilla strips Burger Salad Fresh Fruit Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits Granola with Milk Granola with Yogurt Smoothie Bowls I listed all the breakdowns/recipes on my IG, @doseofvegan_, so be sure to go check it out!
